A healthy twist on a classic! And soooo much better than the supermarket stuff! Enjoy these fibre-fueled treats with a calming cup of tea.

Seedy Oatmeal and Sultana Cookies

Ingredients

Buns

  • Laucke wholemeal bread mic
  • 400 g water
  • 2 teaspoons of yeast
  • 3 tablespoons of Natural Fibre Seed Blend with Fruit

Cross

  • ½ cup plain flour
  • 4-6 tablespoons of water

Glaze

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of water

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C

Step 2

Place the bread mix, water, yeast and Natural Fibre with Fruit into a large bowl. Mix to combine.

Step 3

Knead the dough for 6-10 minutes or until it stretches without tearing.

Step 4

Break the dough into 8 equal parts and shape them into buns.

Step 5

Allow to sit for 30-40 minutes or until they have doubled in size.

Step 6

While the buns are rising, combine flour and water and mix until it forms a thick paste.

Step 7

Use a piping bag to create the crosses by piping horizonatlly and vertically across the buns.

Step 8

To make the glaze, whisk the egg and add water. 

Step 9

Using a pastry brush, brush the glaze mixture over the top of the buns.

Step 10

Place the glazed buns a bread tin and bake for approx. 30 minutes or until golden brown on top.
Allow to cool on baking rack before eating.

Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
